We are UK based designers and manufacturers of high-quality needlework kits. We manufacture under three separate and distinct brands:
Cleopatra's Needle for tapestry or needlepoint kits
Cinnamon Cat for cross stitch kits and charts
Stitch56 for canvas work kits
Tapestry or Needlepoint Kits
Manufacturing under the Cleopatra's Needle brand, our kits are available in a wide range of designs, from the traditional to the contemporary. We cater for all ages, from 7 years and upwards with out Starter Kits, and then progressing to our ever popular Herb Pillows, Spectacles Cases and Cushions kits. We only use Appleton's wool and Zweigart tapestry canvas, ensuring consistency of quality in all our products. See the full range here
Cross Stitch Kits and Charts
We teamed up with Jane Lydia Henderson of Cinnamon Cat Designs in 2009 to make and distribute her gorgeous range of cross stitch kits and charts. Cinnamon Cat products are designed in the UK by Jane Lydia Henderson. She particularly loves bright, vibrant colours with plenty of shading to give depth to her designs. She uses American folk art as inspiration but gives her designs a little English twist. View the full range here.
Canvas Work Kits
We developed Stitch56 canvas work kits after identifying a gap in the stitching market. It's a new style of stitching for the young at heart, using stranded cottons, metallics, beads and ribbons to create fun and interesting products with distinct end uses. Neither cross stitch nor tapestry but somewhere in between it's easy to learn and really quick! See the full range here.
Retail customers
All online orders to the general public are now handled by our sister retail site Lucy Winter. Our full range of tapestry kits, cross stitch kits, long stitch kits, Freedom Frames, charts, stands and accessories can be viewed at the Lucy Winter store, where you can purchase online for worldwide delivery.
Trade customers
If you're a retailer or trade buyer, you can now set up an online account at Cleopatra's Needle. Here you can view our complete catalogue, place trade orders and manage your account online. This facility is exclusively for wholesale and trade buyers. Retail buyers should view the catalogue and order via Lucy Winter.
